Broward Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit detectives are searching for an unidentified robber who violently grabbed a victim’s purse as she walked in the parking lot of a Weston grocery store with her two young children.

On the afternoon of July 19, a mom and her two small children were making their way from their car to the Publix located at 2465 Glades Circle in Weston. The victim was holding a tote-style purse. An unidentified male, who was captured by security cameras, grabbed the victim’s purse with such force that he tore the victim’s shirt in the process.

The robber got away with the purse which contained the victim’s phone, wallet and bank cards. He was seen getting into the passenger side of an awaiting car, possibly a black Mustang with tinted windows.

About an hour after the robbery, a purchase of $500 was attempted at a Walmart in Lauderdale Lakes using the victim’s stolen card.
