Elementary school students in Weston are invited to participate in the 2020 Get Fit Challenge! Friends, families, and kids of all ages can also participate in the the Health & Fitness Festival, a health and wellness event open to the entire community. The events are part of the 23rd Annual Rotary Run for Tomorrow, presented by the Rotary Club of Weston, the City of Weston and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure that CDC guidelines can be observed, the Get Fit Challenge and the Health & Fitness Festival will take place at multiple locations throughout the City of Weston, on this day. This year’s challenge will be a drive-by event that involves stops throughout Weston where you will earn points by answering questions or performing a quick fitness exercise. Students will register online and scan a QR code at each location, allowing them to earn points throughout the challenge. The event will follow COVID-19 guidelines. Facial coverings are required to be worn by all participants.
Each location will feature a different fitness, wellness and/or health activity where participants can earn points and giveaways. Participants can also earn points by completing online activities. All participants of the Get Fit Challenge will receive a T-shirt and giveaways throughout the event.
Elementary schools in Weston participate in the Get Fit Challenge and compete to win cash prizes from the Rotary Club of Weston and Rotary Run for Tomorrow sponsors. The school with the most participants (as a percentage of enrollment) will be recognized with the Commission Cup and accompanying cash prize.
