The Arts Council of Greater Weston, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization dedicated to enhancing the community by ensuring that there are a wide variety of cultural and educational opportunities available locally.

History

Formed in the summer of 2002 by local residents interested in bringing a higher quality of diverse arts & cultural activities to Weston.

The concept for an Arts Council was born from the City of Weston as an intention to coordinate arts and cultural event requests.  The Arts Council of Greater Weston is an independent not-for-profit corporation comprised of elected board members representing varied backgrounds within the City of Weston.

Mission

The Arts Council of Greater Weston is organized for educational, cultural and charitable purposes, to provide planning and oversight, and to support the diverse cultural activities of the community in an effort to enhance the quality of life for all residents of the City of Weston.

The Arts Council reviews requests for the City of Weston to participate as a sponsor.  Requests are to be sent to the Arts Council of Greater Weston.  Upon approval of the request, the Arts Council will forward a recommendation to the City of Weston for the consideration of sponsorship.  The City of Weston reserves the right to decline sponsorship.
