New Garbage, Recycling & Bulk Pickup Service Days in Effect

Effective June 3, 2024, changes in service dates for garbage, recycling and bulk pickup became effective as the result of a new contract that the City of Weston has with Republic Services. The changes are to better serve the community with more efficient solid waste collection. Your garbage collection day and recycle collection day may have changed. Bulk pickup dates are now determined by where you reside in the city. Use the Service Days Lookup App to find your service days.

Palm Frond Pickup

Vegetative waste can be placed in the cart, as long as it was not generated by a lawn service or landscape contractor (contractors are responsible for hauling the waste generated by their own work).

Fronds too large or too many to fit in the cart may be place on the ground next to the cart for pickup, on the FIRST collection day of the week only. For example: If your garbage collection days are Monday and Thursday, palm fronds will ONLY be collected on Monday. Residents must place the palm fronds next to their garbage cart for collection, if they do not fit in the cart.

Curbside residential garbage and recycling collection is provided by Republic Services. This contract is supervised by the Director of Public Works.

  • Request a replacement for a broken garbage or recycling cart (at no charge)
  • Order a replacement cart (to replace the previously issued 35-gallon recycling cart with the standard 65-gallon size).

Curbside Residential Garbage Collection General Information

Household garbage collection is twice weekly from all single and multi-family homes, between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Garbage collection is held throughout the year, with the exception of Christmas Day. If your collection day falls on Christmas Day, your next collection will be your next regularly scheduled collection day. This is the only holiday with no collection.

The City of Weston utilizes a cart system for household garbage collection. Only carts provided by the City may be used. Only garbage placed inside the cart will be collected; garbage left outside, or on top of, the cart will not be picked up

To prevent trash from falling/blowing out, try not to over-fill your cart so that the lid still closes, and please make sure loose light items are bagged.

The carts should be placed at the curb prior to 7 a.m. on your service day.

To ensure for proper and efficient collection, the carts must be placed correctly – facing the street, at least three feet away from obstacles like another cart, mailboxes, fire hydrants, trees, etc. Click on the link below to read more or watch a video on use of the system.
