Requesting Copies of Records

For Buildings Constructed Prior to 1997

Contact the Broward County Records Division at 954-765-4400.  Provide the clerk with the property address.  The clerk will arrange to have copies made, if needed. A fee will be charged by Broward County for copies of records. 

For Buildings Constructed Between 1997 and 2005

Contact the Broward County Records Division at 954-765-4400 to request the permit number associated with the file you need.

Once you have the permit number, contact the City of Weston Building Code Services Department, to request the specific copies that you need associated with that permit number.  It will take a few days for the records to be accessed.  You will be contacted by the Building Code Services staff to make arrangements for you to review the plans.  You can also determine whether you would like to request copies of certain documents.

For Buildings Constructed after 2005

Contact the City of Weston Building Code Services Department. Staff will locate the requested records and make arrangements with you to review the plans. You may also request copies of certain documents via the City's Public Records Request process.

Fees for copies will be charged in accordance with the City's Fee Schedule for Public Records Requests.

Please Note:

Architectural/Building plans for residential buildings and single-family residences are retained for 10 anniversary years after issuance of Certificate of Occupancy. §119.021(3) (2b) F. S.
