The City of Weston contracts with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services Operations for fire and emergency services. The Weston District has an ISO Public Protection Classification rating of 1, the highest rating attainable, which provides a direct financial benefit to residents and business owners who are likely to see a reduction in fire insurance premiums, as well as the benefit of superior service and response.
The BSO Fire Rescue and EMS Department provides services to Weston residents from four strategically located, City-owned stations that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The City of Weston’s partnership with BSO also allows Weston to utilize the Department’s resources that are available countywide; including Fire Marshal service for building plan review; fire prevention and investigation; hazardous materials unit (HAZMAT); technical and confined space unit; mass casualty unit; and airborne trauma evacuation. These services are provided to the City at no additional expense.
The BSO Fire Rescue and EMS Department is led by Weston Chief Todd Draizin.
