Why Do I Need A Certificate of Use?

In order for a business operating from a commercial or industrial property in Weston to receive a Local Business Tax Receipt, the business owner must first apply for and be issued a Certificate of Use for the location, in accordance with City Code. Any new tenant or change of occupancy in a commercial or industrial property must have a Certificate of Use to certify the use is permitted and does not violate any requirements of the Florida Building Code, Broward County and City of Weston Zoning Code, or the Fire Marshal's Office.
