Did you know?

  • In Florida, a bicycle is defined as a vehicle and bicyclists are drivers subject to the same rights to the roadways and responsible to obey the same traffic laws as motorists.
  • Bicycles are permitted on sidewalks BUT bicyclists riding on the sidewalk must yield to the right-of-way of any pedestrians and must give an audible signal before overtaking and passing a pedestrian.
  • Bicyclists under the age of 16 are required to wear a helmet.
  • After sundown and before sunrise, bicycles are required to have lights on the front (white) and rear (red).
