Engineering is a division of the Public Works Department. Engineering permits are required for all work within the public or private rights of way; non-Building Code aspects of commercial and residential property development projects (such as paving, water, wastewater, stormwater infrastructure and landscaping); and driveway improvements and re-construction. The Engineering Division staff consists of the Permits Engineer, Engineering Inspectors and Landscape Inspectors.

The Engineering Division applies the City of Weston Engineering Standards in accordance with Chapter 127 of the City’s Code of Ordinances. For efficiency in processing permits and offering a “one-stop shop” process for permit applicants, the Engineering staff are located at the Administrative Services Center, along with the Zoning Division and Building Code Services Department.
