Student Artist Showcase is Virtual This Year
The Arts Council of Greater Weston, in collaboration with the City of Weston, will present its 14th Annual Student Artists Showcase 2021 as a Virtual Exhibition. The virtual exhibition features over 150 works of art highlighting the creativity and talent of the student artists. Seventeen dedicated art teachers, representing kindergarten through 12th grade, from eleven Weston area public and private schools, are participating in the exhibit.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, art teachers were asked to submit up to 10 photos of student artwork from their art activities for the year instead of the originals. The original artwork selections were done in a variety of mediums, including acrylic, ceramic, crayon, color pencil, digital art, digital photography, graphite, ink, marker, mixed media, oil paint, oil pastel, pastel, photography, 3D sculptures, tempera, and watercolor.
This year, participant certificates and ribbons will be distributed to each student artist selected. The traditional in-person awards ceremony will not take place.
