A riverboat captain (played by Dwayne Johnson) encounters an English researcher (played by Emily Blunt) who looks to study a fabled tree with healing properties in the Amazon. As they navigate the risks of the Amazon jungle, they cross a group determined to use the tree for evil purposes.
