Election Day

Polls open 7 AM until 7 PM

  • Date: 11/06/2018 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM  
  • Location: Weston, Florida
  • Introduction: General election, along with City of Weston ballot items: two charter amendments and City Commission Seat 4

On this General Election Day, voters will elect representatives at the federal, state and local level, as well as vote on several ballot questions.  It is also Weston's Municipal General Election, therefore all Weston voters will also have on their ballots two charter amendments and the selection of a representative to fill seat 4 of the Weston City Commission.  The elected representative will be elected to serve a four-year term.

Qualifications as stated in the City Charter

To qualify to run for election for a Commission Seat a person must be a resident of the Residential Area that he/she is running for, and have resided continuously within the Residential Area for which election is being sought for at least one year preceding the date of filing.  Individuals who are interested in becoming a candidate for the City of Weston, please contact the City Clerk at 954-385-2000 for more information.

City Commission Election and Term of Office

Each Commissioner and the Mayor are elected at-large for 4-year terms.  All registered Weston voters may vote for a candidate in each open seat.  The City is divided into four areas as delineated on the Commission Residential Seat Area map and assigned numbered seats 1, 2, 3, and 4. One Commissioner shall be elected to each Seat.  The Mayor is elected at large to a four-year term, and may reside in any area of the City.
