Traffic Impact to Travelers at I-75 & US 27 Interchange Bridge Maintenance Project
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded a contract for improvements at the SR25/US27 and SR93/I-75 Interchange. The construction began May 20, 2019 and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2020.

No Cost Specialized Phones for Hard of Hearing, Deaf and Deaf/Blind FL residents
In 1991, the FL Legislature passed the Telecommunications Access Systems Act (TASA). Specialized telephone equipment and ring signaling devices provided through this program are loaned to all qualified permanent Florida residents for as long as they need it, at no charge.

'CALL 911 if you can; TEXT ONLY if you can’t' - Text to 911 will give a voice to those who would be in danger if they were to place a phone call and meets the needs of those with hearing and speech disabilities. The text service does have limitations, in particular you must text your location.

It is important for parents to talk with their children and be able to recognize signs of personal crisis that could lead to suicide. Parents need to ask the screening yes-or-no questions from The Columbia Protocol to identify if someone is in crisis, and not worry if asking will give them the idea.

Grant Received for New Bike lane on Bonaventure Boulevard from Indian Trace to State Road 84
Weston made a successful application to the Complete Streets and other Localized Initiatives Grant Program (CSLIP) to receive construction funding of over $2 million for a bike lane and sidewalk along Bonaventure Boulevard that will stretch from Indian Trace all the way to State Road 84

Helping Others - Firefighters Bring True Joy on Christmas Eve
A single mother with three young children lost their personal belongings and Christmas gifts in a car fire after just arriving in Weston to visit with family. This misfortune tugged at the heart strings of Weston firefighters who were able to turn tragedy into joy on Christmas Eve.

Deputy Ryan Seguin Memorial Highway
BSO Weston Deputy Ryan Seguin was killed in the line of duty on February 15, 2006 while performing a routine traffic stop on I-595. A portion of that roadway now honors him, and is recognized as Deputy Ryan Seguin Memorial Highway.
