The Bonaventure Development District was established on December 21, 1998 as a dependent special district of the City of Weston by City Ordinance No. 98-61 enacted by the City Commission, pursuant to Chapter 189.403(2), Florida Statutes and with the District having those powers and responsibilities set forth in Chapter 190, Florida Statutes.
