The definition of a Lobbyist is as follows:
A person who is retained, with or without compensation, for the purpose of lobbying, or a person who is employed by another person or entity, on a full-time or part-time basis, principally to Lobby on behalf of that other person or entity.

One of the sections within the Code pertains specifically to Lobbyists, which includes the following provisions:

  •  Lobbyists are required to register with the county or the municipality that they are lobbying and must complete a contact log when visiting an elected official at the elected official's offices or elsewhere on the local government's premises.
  • Lobbyists are required to document any communication with an elected official outside of their government offices/premises whether the communication is in person, by telephone or electronic media.

  • Lobbyist Registration Form (PDF)  An Annual registration form and fee is required to be submitted each calendar year  and prior to engaging in lobbying activities as provided for in Chapter 25 of the Weston Code of Ordinances.
