Byron Jaffe

City Commissioner Byron L. Jaffe was elected to office in March 2017, during a Special election to fill the unexpired term of Commission Seat 3.

Commissioner Jaffe has been a long-time resident, residing here since 1990. He was active in the original 1996 drive that resulted in the incorporation of Weston into a City. Since that time, Commissioner Jaffe remained active in civic affairs and served as President of the Hibiscus Island Maintenance Association. He has also served as a Director of the Weston Homeowners Association, and was Co-Chair and one of the founders of the Weston 4th of July events.

Commissioner Jaffe has always been an active participant throughout the years working to improve and assist our schools and he is a former Board of Director with Temple B'nai Aviv.

Commissioner Jaffe currently serves on the Ft. Laud-Hollywood International Airport Federal Noise Study Commission and the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization Citizen Advisory Committee.  The Commissioner has been appointed by his peers on the Commission as the Alternate Director for the 2018-2019 Broward League of Cities Board of Directors. 

Commissioner Byron L. Jaffe and his wife Beth moved to Weston to raise their family in a safe and beautiful City. They have two children, Benjamin, who is attending the University of Miami, and Hannah, who is attending the University of Florida. Professionally, Commissioner Jaffe is a Commercial Airline Pilot since 1985, currently flying as a Captain based at Miami International Airport. You will see Commissioner Jaffe throughout the City as he is an active participant in events and programs.
