Where can I find a history of Financial Report data?

Does the City have special assessments?

Yes, the City has special assessments. The City assesses property owners for services such as solid waste and recycling collection, fire protection and inspection services, and operating costs for the Bonaventure or Indian Trace Development Districts. Charges are collected as a non-ad valorem assessment on the annual property tax bill.
Does the City of Weston have any kind of assistance or counseling programs?

The City of Weston does not offer any kind of assistance programs other than the first buyer/home repair assistance program facilitated by Broward County.
How do I request a lien search?

You can do so by sending in a city of Weston estoppel request (available on website) and follow the instructions on the form.
I am selling my house and I received a letter that says my Bonaventure Development District (BDD) assessments are due.

The responsibility of the City is to send out the estoppels requested when a property is being transferred. The lien on this parcel does not require payment in full in order to transfer ownership of the property as indicated in the letter.

The BDD assessment is placed on all properties in the Bonaventure Development District pursuant to Bonds issued in the amount of $12,790,000 in January 2002 to fund capital improvements identified in the Bonaventure Master Plan and the acquisition of the Keep Bonaventure Beautiful Corporation. This Bond matures on November 1, 2022.

The assessment is paid via your property tax bill annually and shows up under the Non-Ad Valorem Assessments portion of the bill. You have been paying the annual assessments every year as part of your overall property taxes. Upon sale of your property, the new owners will assume the remaining prorated payments as part of their annual tax bill, reduced annually as the bonds mature, unless they are prepaid as part of the closing.
Is the Bonaventure Development District considered a Community Development District?

No. The Bonaventure Development District is not considered a Community Development District. The Bonaventure Development District was legally created under Florida Statute, Chapter 189 as a Dependent Special District. Community Development Districts (CDD) are created under Chapter 190.
What is my assessed value and where do I find it?

The assessed value is a valuation set upon real estate by the County Property Appraiser as a basis for levying real property taxes (Ad Valorem Tax). Your assessed value can be found by logging onto the Broward County Property Appraiser's website, www.bcpa.net.
What is the City’s Fiscal Year?

The twelve month period that corresponds with the annual budget. The City’s fiscal year begins October 1st and ends on September 30th.
Where can I register as a vendor?

The City of Weston does not have a vendor registration process. The City of Weston utilizes Onvia DemandStar to advertise current bids and solicitations. Businesses who have registered with these services are notified electronically whenever the City requests a quotation or has issued a formal solicitation for a commodity or service offered by the vendor. Additionally, the City publishes a list of vendors that we have done business with.
