Indian Trace Development District

The Indian Trace Development District was initially established as the Indian Trace Special Municipal Tax District on August 18, 1975 by Ordinance 75-22 enacted by the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County.  In July 1981, the District was reestablished as the Indian Trace Community Development District under the Uniform Community Development District Act of 1980 (Chapter 190, Florida Statutes), pursuant to Rule 42A-1, Florida Administrative Code, of the Florida Land and Water Adjudicatory Commission.

Upon incorporation of the City of Weston in September 1996, the District was established as a dependent special district of the City, under the authority granted by the provisions of the City Charter, by City of Weston Ordinance No. 18 enacted by the City Commission on September 2, 1997, and as amended by Ordinance 2001-24 enacted by the City Commission on September 10, 2001.

Chapter 190, Florida Statutes serves as the District’s charter.
