Flooding can occur anywhere, it does not just affect coastal areas.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency's National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) addresses flood hazards across the United States by providing information resources and education about flood zones.  Know your flood hazard.  

FEMA Letters of Map Change (LOMC)

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program provided the table of Letters of Map Change (LOMC), effective July 31, 2024.

For information relating to LOMC not listed on the table or to obtain copies of previously issued documents, please contact FEMA Map Information eXchange (FIMX), toll free, at 1-877-FEMA-MAP (1-877-336-2627).

National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System

Weston is one of 22,000+ eligible communities nationwide that have chosen to participate in the voluntary National Flood Insurance Program's (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS) program, which calculates the reality of flood risks. Participation in the CRS provides a discount for property owners through annual compliance and certification with NFIP standards, and community awareness and education of activities that can be done to ultimately reduce the impacts of flooding.

Flood Insurance Savings for Weston Residents and Businesses

As a result of the City of Weston’s Class 6 rating in the National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS), Weston property owners receive up to a 20 percent discount on the cost of flood insurance for NFIP flood insurance policies issued or renewed in Special Flood Hazard Areas on or after May 1, 2020.

Preferred Risk Policies, applicable in Zones B, C, and X on the NFIP Flood Insurance Rate Map are not eligible for the CRS discount.
